Swedish oats & chocolate balls

Swedes are good with desserts and sweet things, and the classic chocolate balls are no exception. They are highy addictive - I can easily eat the whole batch with one go - so I decided to make a sugar-free version, replacing sugar with xylitol (birch sugar). Now I can eat them all without bad conscience... Love it.

Ingredients

(20 balls)

100 g butter
1 tablespoon virgin coconut oil
2 tablespoons strong coffee
3/4 dl xylitol (birch sugar)
2,5 dl rolled oats
1/2 teaspoon fleur de sel
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 drop vanilla extract
1/2 dl hazelnut powder / coconut flakes

Preparation

Melt butter and coconut oil in a pan with low heat. Add coffee and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients: oats, birch sugar, salt, and cocoa powder.
Mix everything and refridgerate for an hour.

Once the dough is cool and firm, form it into small balls and roll them in hazelnut powder or coconut flakes. Serve cold.
